Summary Release Note
Application Error Resolved an issue where users would intermittently see an error "Cannot set property 'region_id' of undefined" when opening an item for viewing.
Assessment - Create/Edit Usability

Minor enhancements to the Assessment create/edit workflow:

  • User can now add new items directly or add items from banks when creating or editing assessments.
Assessment - Results Update Resolved an issue where Assessment would return result scores exceeding the maximum points for the classroom assignment.
Assessment Detail - Item Quick View DOM Issue Resolved an issue where a DOM error displayed when attempting to display the item quick view.
Bug Fixed - Calendar Events A bug was discovered where if a teacher creates an assessment or discussion within Class Pages, an event was created in the Calendar in Unified Classroom. This has now been resolved; any time an assignment, assessment or discussion is created, teachers should see it within the Assignment Category on the Calendar.
Bug Fixed - Teacher Portal: Dropped Students Icon Not Displaying in Search Field

When a teacher searches for a student in the Search field in the upper right hand corner in Unified Classroom, the dropped icon was not present when a student was listed who had been dropped. This has now been resolved; users will now be able to differentiate between dropped students and enrolled students within the Search field.

Change Bank Context

Teachers now have the ability to change content bank context to any banks that are accessible to the user.

  • User can change bank context to a specific bank or All.
  • Bank of context will display at top of results grid.
  • Bank Selector Options:

    • District
    • Personal
    • PowerSchool
Control Button - Text Display Resolved an issue where control button text wrapped on small screens.
Create Assignments - Ability to Attach Documents

Teachers can now attach any number of documents to an assignment, including Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, Excel files, pictures, and videos; the pictures and videos will appear in a visual format.
Additionally, some of the workflow has been altered to allow viewing assignment attachments easier:

  • An "eye" icon has been added to the Recent Assignment widget. When a teacher clicks the icon, they'll be taken to the Assignments/Activities page where the assignment detail pane will display.
  • The paper clip icon will continue to be present on the dashboard to indicate either a teacher has attached a document or the student will do online work and attach a document.
  • The maximum file size for an attachment is 100MB
Creating Assignments - Minor Enhancements

The following buttons are now available on the Create Assignments window:

  1. Save and Close: clicking Save and Close will save the assignment and close the window.
  2. Save: clicking Save results in the window remaining open and in edit mode. The header at the top of the window will change from "Create Assignment" to "Edit: [Title of Assignment]". The teacher can edit any portion of the assignment, and once Save and Close is clicked, the original assignment will be updated with the latest edits.
  3. Save and Duplicate: if a teacher creates an assignment and clicks Save and Duplicate, a banner will display at the top of the window stating that the original assignment has been saved and a brand-new assignment has been created.
Creating Assignments in Class Pages Does Not Sync Properly Across Other Pages If a teacher creates an assignment within Class Pages, and the assignment has a specific time it's due that is greater than 8:00 p.m., the assignment may display as due the day prior or the day after depending on the time zone for the teacher. This issue is resolved.
Editing Items - Sync Error Resolved an issue where user edits were lost when creating or editing items and server connectivity was disrupted. System would display a message: "This item is syncing. Please try again later."
Feature Editor - List Control Display Resolved an issue where numbered or bulleted lists would not display properly within the feature rich-text editor.

Usability enhancements to form fields:

    • On Save, application will validate required fields.
Help Link Added to Admin Portal Now that Unified Classroom has a separate portal for administrators, we've added the Help link within the username navigation. Simply click on your name on the bottom left hand corner. Once the menu pops up, the Help link will be available to click on and will launch the Help page.
Hotspot Question Type Resolved an issue where Hotspot Question Types were cutting off the top of the image.
Item - Detail View Error

Resolved an issue where questions fail to load when user selects Edit Item from Details View.

Learning Grade Sync Logs for the Unified Classroom Teachers are now able to view Grade Sync logs in the Unified Classroom that are similar to those seen by teachers using the standalone Learning with PowerTeacher Pro integration. This makes it easier to identify and fix Learning Activities that fail to sync with PowerTeacher Pro.
Link Errors Resolved an issue where selecting Unified Classroom navigation links would generate an error.
Live Sync for Class Roster Additions When students are added to a class roster in PowerSchool SIS, they are added to the corresponding class roster in Learning within minutes.
Live Sync for Classes When a class is added to a term that is being imported from PowerSchool SIS to Learning, the corresponding class is created in Learning and its roster is populated within minutes. When a change is made to the teacher, class name, class code, or term in PowerSchool SIS, the change is applied to the corresponding class in Learning within minutes.
Live Sync for Co-Teacher Additions When a co-teacher is added to a class in PowerSchool SIS, the co-teacher is added to the corresponding class in Learning within minutes.
Live Sync for Parent Accounts When a parent account is created in PowerSchool SIS, the corresponding parent account is created in Learning within minutes. When changes are made to the username, Google or Office 365 ID, email address, or school/organization for an existing account in PowerSchool SIS, the same changes are made to the corresponding student account in Learning.
Live Sync for Parent-Child Relationships If the relationship between a guardian and a student is added in PowerSchool SIS, the corresponding parent-child relationship is updated in the Class Pages within minutes.
Live Sync for Student Accounts When a student account is created in PowerSchool SIS, the corresponding student account is created in Learning within minutes. When changes are made to the username, Google or Office 365 ID, email address, or school/organization for an existing account in PowerSchool SIS, the same changes are made to the corresponding student account in Learning.
Live Sync for Teacher Accounts When a teacher account is created in PowerSchool SIS, the corresponding teacher account is created in Learning within minutes. Live Sync for User Grade Levels When a user's grade level is updated in PowerSchool SIS, the corresponding account in Learning is updated within minutes.
Navigation Button Errors Resolved an issue where selecting navigation buttons would occasionally cause a browser error.
Offline (Paper & Pencil) Assessments

Teachers can now create basic offline (paper & pencil) assessments.

  • Assigning Offline Assessments
    • User can select 'Assessment - Offline' as a student work type.
    • User can select assessments where items are all multiple choice.
  • Print Bubble Sheets
    • User can print pre-slugged bubble sheets for context assessment.
  • Scoring
    • User can scan and score assessment using:
      • Scanner email
      • PowerSchool Mobile App

Personal Bank

Teachers can now author, view, edit, and leverage content within their own personal bank.

  • User may create and update assessment artifacts (Assessments, Items and Features) within their Personal bank.
  • The Personal bank is private and not visible or accessible by other teachers.
  • User can select target bank when creating an item.
    • User can only select banks to which they have write/contribute permissions.
Proctor Page Enhancements

Minor enhancements have been made to the Proctor page to provide a better user experience:

  • Status indicators have been added to better indicate student assessment statuses:
    • Active
    • Paused
    • Locked
    • Not Started
    • Complete
Proctoring - Incorrect Status Resolved an issue where student status incorrectly displayed a 'Paused' state on the proctoring dialog after a student submitted their assessment.
Question Editor Error Resolved an issue where using a percent (%) sign when creating a question would cause an "URI malformed error" to display.
Rebranded URLs for PowerSchool Learning Users will see learning.powerschool.com URLs throughout the application. Old haikuklearning.com URLs will still work, but they will redirect to learning.powerschool.com URLs. Old custom URLs for PowerSchool Learning will not be affected and will not redirect.
Simple Scoring - Constructed Response

Teachers can now identify and score constructed response items in the assessment results view:

  • There is an icon on the item column to indicate constructed response items.
    • Users can select the item column, cycle through and score all students for the context item.
  • For unscored constructed response items, there is a flag on the student row to indicate students require which require manual scoring.
    • After scoring a student item, the student flag will no longer appear.
    • Student's updated score will be immediately pushed to the Gradebook.
Student Assessment - Network Error Resolved an issue where a student taking an assessment might see a network error message when selecting the 'Finish' control.
Student Results Displaying Prematurely Resolved an issue where students could access assessment results prior to completing an assessment.
Teacher - Assessment Preview Added the ability for a teacher to preview an existing assessment (with answers) in a single, non-distracted page view.
Teacher Preferences - Traditional Grades Widget on Dashboard

When a teacher goes to the user menu in the bottom left hand corner and clicks Settings then Display Settings, traditional grades can now be selected and reflected throughout Unified Classroom.

  • If a district/site/teacher selects the traditional grades preference, the traditional grades widget will display on the dashboard.
    The traditional grades widget will display data relevant to what's selected in the Class Picker.
  • The grades displayed within the widget are based upon what the district has configured in the SIS for the traditional grades scale.
  • The View All link at the bottom of the widget will take the user to the Traditional Grades Progress page.
Scroll Bar Not Present on Student Overview Pages

Known Issue: When teachers go to a specific student page (e.g., Assignments, Quick Links, etc.), the scroll bar is not always visible.
Workaround: Expand the browser window so that the full-page shows; the scroll bar won't be necessary as all of the information will be displayed on the page.

Parent/Student Portal - Activity Feed: Posts Displayed in the Activity Feed are from All Classes

Known Issue: When parents and students view the activity feed in Unified Classroom, posts will be shown for all classes and are not filtered based on the Class Context.
